Eden Garden
Eden Garden has two main goals:
∙ To provide fresh organic food for those in need
∙ To give volunteers a hands-on opportunity to learn about growing their own food
At Eden Garden, volunteers grow organic fruits and vegetables for local food banks and other local residents who need food assistance. Donation sites include Tri-Valley Haven, South Hayward Parish, a group home in Dublin, and residents of Goodness Village (a project for the formerly unhoused).
How to Participate in this Group
This service project is open to everyone, including garden club members, members from Crosswinds Church, and community members. Corporations like Kaiser and high school students earning community service hours also volunteer at times. How often you come and how long you stay during a work party is entirely up to you. We appreciate all help.
Work parties are held most Fridays from 9:00 am to noon throughout the year. Check the newsletter or the Calendar to find out about scheduled work parties.
You do not need to sign up ahead but we recommend that you join this group’s email distribution list so that you get the latest details about the month’s work parties and so you can be alerted if a work party is canceled.
