Co-President’s Letter

Greetings – This will be a busy year for LAVGC. We will be having a seed starting workshop on January 29, starting tomatoes, peppers, and other seeds for the plant sale. Yes, we will be reminding you each month to get your plants together for our big fundraiser on April 16. We will be having a board meeting on Tuesday, January 11 and all are welcome to attend. As this is pruning season, you can help prune roses for the residents at Pleasanton Gardens, where we hold our board meetings and other club functions. It will soon be time to start getting our nominating committee together, helping with Arbor Day, and oh, the Alameda County Home and Garden Show is just around the corner, in February. We need you volunteering your time to help Alden Lane distribute flowers to the participants so please, sign up at the meeting. Camp Arroyo and the Sensory Garden need helpers, and there is the herb group brunch , 4MLB, and the Mediterranean Native Group. All of these activities offer you a chance to socialize and learn. We are also responsible for hosting a district luncheon in May that needs a chair and lots of helpers as well. We have lots going on this month. Do join us at one of the many events this month and make 2011 the year that you step up to volunteer your time to the club.

Wishing you and yours a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
